However executives and special accountants can have an extended work time of around 50 hours. The tax season lasts from January to April and the work load is at its peak. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' report of May 2011, the mean average annual wage of accountant is around $70,130; whereas when the state of Missouri is concerned, the annual average wage is around $61,850. Between 2010 and 2020, the growth of employment is projected to about 16%-with employment in 2010 being 1,216,900; employment in 2020 projected to be 1,407,600.
