Financial Managers

I worked with bank during my college summer time. My first job as a mutual fund accountant helped to realize my forte in the field of accounting and finance. I have also attended some credit rating and financial planning seminars during my college time which encouraged me to take some interest in stock market and portfolio management. Since last 15 years, I have been working with a credit rating company which provides credit rating for private as well public sector companies.

My job needs me to work with people any level of company from an accountant to CFO of the company to access important financial data of the company. On a daily basis, I interact with company vendors and get approval on invoices. Besides this, I also give training to my juniors on how to deal with financial reporting system. I also get an opportunity to understand the way technology manages company’s financial data which offers financial insight in quick time. I meet with business managers at departmental levels and design a budget for next year. Once the budged is formulated, I discuss targets with mangers of different levels.

The good part of my job is that it doesn’t need more than 45 hours of work in a week. Working in Missouri makes reaching at work very easy. I am part of biggest department in company and my profile makes sure that the money will flow in the company at every level. This job offers me variety and the exposure to work with talented people. Working with people you respect is the great thing in the life. My job is not repetitive in nature and I am regularly exposed to some innovative things. This makes my job very challenging and offers me active work environment.

The bad part of my work is that I have to spend lot of hours working with computers while using Microsoft Excel. The creative comfort of art and media technology is not available to me. In my job, performance matters a lot as financial industry is becoming very competitive these days.
